How Do INVISALIGN® aligners work?

INVISALIGN® clear braces work with an innovative system of aligning teeth, using a set of invisible and removable braces, which will apply the right amount of pressure to the right place for the right length of time.

They work the same way and just as effectively as a conventional orthodontic metal brace with the advantage of being more comfortable and convenient. They don’t hurt your mouth and you can remove and take them with you wherever you go.

Technically speaking, the diagnosis is made from a 3-D computerised image (Align Technology) which allows the creation of a treatment plan with the participation of both patient and dentist from the start to the end of the process. This way the treatment is predictable from the very beginning of your treatment.

What can I expect at my initial consultation?

Everyone’s expectations are unique, that’s why your Invisalign® treatment starts with a free consultation with Dr Maurie Coorey who will help you determine what INVISALIGN® can do for your smile. This will allow Dr Maurie to have some insight into what your expectations are and match them with possible treatment.

Dr Maurie Coorey will evaluate your smile and map out a precise and customised digital treatment plan. He will be monitoring the transformation progress step-by-step.

During your consultation, Dr Maurie will also take digital records in the form of dental impressions and photos, so that to establish the exact movement your teeth need to achieve the be results in less time.

Those impressions are digitally designed at the INVISALIGN® lab.

The INVISALIGN® treatment in Sydney may require Smart-Force attachments, a small tooth-coloured shape attached to your teeth. These attachments provide the necessary force and pressure to push the aligners on to your teeth, this technology allows complex tooth movements and as the Invisalign® clear braces, these attachments are barely noticeable.

Are Clear Braces safe?

Invisalign® transparent braces are made of flexible plastic - a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack® - created exclusively for INVISALIGN® treatment.

It is essential to ensure your aligners are clean before putting them back. So, don’t forget to brush your teeth after every meal.
